Óleos — Virtual Exhibition, Summer 2025
Art Mouvance
The virtual gallery Art Mouvance presents, during the summer of 2025, the exhibition "Óleos", dedicated to a selection of recent works by Juan Carlos Zeballos Moscairo.
Conceived as an immersion into the gestural and energetic language of abstraction, this exhibition highlights a body of work that does not represent the world, but rather evokes it in its vibratory essence. It reveals a sensitive and mental universe, in which painting becomes a space for the emergence of expanded perception, emotional memory, and collective imagination.
Works available by online reservation through Art Mouvance.

Juan Carlos Zeballos Moscairo
(Arequipa, Pérou, 1976)
A Peruvian painter living between Paris and Peru, Juan Carlos Zeballos Moscairo develops a visual practice that expresses a form of expressionism—even neo-expressionism—that is distinctly South American, while engaging with contemporary issues of perception, the virtual, and the immaterial.
His compositions are built on dynamics of flow: waves, pulses, vibratory lines that embody forces of expanding energy. These pictorial pulsations do not seek to represent visible reality, but rather to transcend the real by revealing an underlying world—a world of sensations, mental projections, and frequencies.
In this approach, color cannot be considered as an objective given. It does not exist in itself, but results from a cerebral process of reconstruction, a translation of wave into sensation. The painting thus becomes an uncertain territory, a field where memory, emotion, and active perception converge.
It is precisely in this tension—between abstraction, perception, and immateriality—that the philosophical dimension of his work unfolds. Plato reminded us that true art is not an imitation of reality, nor a copy of a copy, but a creative act directed toward the world of Ideas. In this sense, Zeballos Moscairo does not paint forms; he creates a pictorial space that precedes form itself.
His work leads us into this immaterial weave, this fabric before matter, this invisible veil that precedes all creation—the Ein Sof, the original spiritual source. What we perceive in his canvases is the manifestation of a world prefigured by the mind, where color becomes the language of the unconscious and a gateway to the ideal. Here, art reclaims its ontological function: to reveal a world that exists before form.
